Anointing of the Sick

The Anointing of the Sick is given to provide physical and spiritual healing to those who are extremely ill or dying.

If you or someone you know is in need of this Sacrament, call the parish office: 513-732-2218. If the office is closed when you call, you are still able to reach a priest through the parish office number by following the directions given for a sacramental emergency.

“The celebration of the Anointing of the Sick consists essentially in the anointing of the forehead and hands of the sick person (in the Roman Rite) or of other parts of the body (in the Eastern Rite), the anointing being accompanied by the liturgical prayer of the celebrant asking for the special grace of this sacrament” (CCC 1531).
